Sasuke is Gary Stu and Thorin is Gary Stu, I mean their stories contains too much angst. I understand, Sasuke lost his whole family and clan, and Thorin had something similiar, but useless tantrum doesn't help to beat the enemies. Only difference is that Itachi wasn't evil and Azog was.
